Symbols of transformation: recurring symbols and why I use them

Language is important. It helps our society function and makes our lives easier, but symbols, I believe, are vastly more powerful. They are universal. You could place thirty people who speak different languages in a room, and every one of them would recognize that a smiley face is good and a sad face is bad. We carry on full conversations using emojis across the world. Long before written language, symbols shaped how humans understood the universe.

At the same time, symbols are deeply personal. We each place our own meanings onto them, shaped by experience, memory, and intuition.

For me, the symbols I use come mostly from visions. Through meditation, I have traveled to many galaxies in my mind. I use galaxy backgrounds to represent the vastness of the universe and to remind myself that we are just one small link in an endless chain of energy. If you meditate, you know how important grounding is—I often use mushrooms as a reminder of that. Crowns, for me, symbolize not dominance or hierarchy, but our higher selves, awareness, and inner sovereignty.
